One trait all racing fans have in common is that we love to listen to engine sounds and soon there will even be an app for that!
Chris Wise, Derek Long & sound engineer Greg Hill have announced RevHeadz, an app that brings state of the art engine sound replication to mobile devices.
The interactive app does not just play sound samples but allows users to rev & shift to fully experience each engine sound.
The
application
incorporates
sonic

with
real‐world
mechanical physical parameters
including
speedometer,
tachometer,
accelerator,

and

logic.
You can check out a first video of the app below, showing a V8 stock car engine. Furthermore, a sound sample of a rotary engine in Revheadz is available as well.
RevHeadz is due for release in Q4 2013, the app will be free to download, coming with two car and one motorbike engines for everyone to try.Additional engine packages will be available via in-app purchase.
The app will also be coming to the Android platform following the iOS release.
