Ignite Skill Gaming has added the newest car to their free-to-play SimRaceWay title as the McLaren MP4-12C GT3 is now available for purchase.
Part of SimRaceWay’s licensing deal with Mclaren, the MP4-12C GT3 can be bought for $4.32
Powered by a 3.8 liter V8 bi-turbo engine, the MP4-12C is build to the FIA GT3 regulations based on the MP4-12C road car. The car made its competition debut in the British GT Championship last year and went on to compete in various events, including the Spa 24 Hours race. The car became an instant success as all 20 cars built for the 2012 season have already been sold to customers.
The base content of SimRaceWay is free for everyone to try, giving players access to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X as well as Mid Ohio & Zandvoort. Additional content is available for purchase with prices ranging from a few cents to several dollars.
The title puts an emphasis on online racing, using a real-time skill matching system to offer close racing. Like SimRaceWay’s past website that was based on rFactor & other simulations, the new title will again be offering paid online races where players have to pay an entry fee to compete, free online events are available as well.

Slightly Mad Studios have added a new membership tier to their WMD-powered Project CARS title as members can now choose to upgrade to “Full Member” level.
Full Members receive the same benefits as Team Members, including a weekly development build of Project CARS and full access to the busy WMD forums. On top of that, Full Members are also entitled to receive the finished retail version of Project CARS free of charge once it hits the shelves.
Full Member status is available for a one-time payment of 45€. Juniors & Team Members who don’t wish to upgrade will receive a discount on the finished title based on their membership commitment (Juniors will receive the title for 10€ less while Team Members get a 25€ reduction off the retail price).
EA has launched a sale on their Origin platform, including a very interesting offer for sim racers as Slightly Mad Studios’ Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed now sells for just 5€.
Shift 2 Unleashed was released back in March 2011 and features a mix of road going cars and racing machinery, including the FIA GT1 & GT3 championship and lots of iconic tracks including the Nordschleife.
Even though Shift 2 is surely no thoroughbred simulation, the fast-paced career mode and lots of quality content make it easy to get your money’s worth – Especially if it sells for just 5€.
A new feature will appeal to all the Gran Turismo shutterbugs, named “Photo Stream”. This feature allows you to share your finest images, anonymously, with the entire Gran Turismo community through an as-yet unpublished URL:
With the coming Gran Turismo 5 update planned for March 2012, we will be starting a new service on gran-turismo.com worldwide, called “Gran Turismo 5 Photo Stream”.
In GT5 Photo Stream, photographs taken in the photo mode of Gran Turismo 5 and set to “Share” will be shown in a list on a webpage, and be made possible to view by anyone.
The photographs will continue to change periodically, the online ID’s of the photographer will NOT be shown or made public, and there is no evaluation system or the like for the photographs. This is a service which simply introduces what kinds of photographs are being taken in Gran Turismo 5 by players around the world.
Please be aware that any photographs set to “Share” after the start date of this service will be released publically on the web by GT5 Photo Stream.
We hope you’ll look forward to the start of this new service.
* Photographs that had been set to “Share with Friends” before the start date of this service will not be shown in GT5 Photo Stream. * Due to limitations of time and the number of photograph displayable, not all photographs set to “Share” may be shown in GT5 Photo Stream.
At present gamers can view a specific user’s Shared images on gran-turismo.com, but only if the user is on their friends list. While Photo Stream will be anonymous it will allow you to browse photographs made by any user so long as they have been set to “Share”, as a showcase for the Photomode part of the game.
Gaming PC's are making a come back due to the consoles lagging in gaming performance edge. So we are seeing some pretty awesome gear coming out which would have filled a room and cost a fortune hitting the shelves. I am not sure how much this "lappy" would weigh in but it would sure kick out some rev's for sim racing.
